It’s time to get fit for the 6th annual
PYRAMID CHALLENGE!
October 15, 2011 – Washington Irving Middle School
Seven Schools, Two Distances, Only One Trophy,
The What? The Pyramid Challenge! A cross country race for the elementary school students of the West Springfield Pyramid. Grades K-3 will run one-half mile, and grades 4-6 ill run one mile. The courses are on gently rolling hills, all grass and cinder track. Last year’s races attracted more than 1000 entries.
Is this a competition? You bet! Points will be awarded for school participation as well as for Top finishers. Irving Middle School presented the traveling trophy to Rolling Valley Elementary last year, but it’s up for grabs once again.
When and Where? Saturday, Oct 15, 2011. Washington Middle School. Plan to arrive one hour before your start time to receive your shirt.
Note: A parent or guardian must accompany each participant at sign-in.
Who is eligible? The races are open to the K-6 students of Cardinal Forest, Hunt Valley, Keene Mill, Orange Hunt, Rollin Valley, Sangster, and West Springfield elementary. schools.
What does it cost? Four cans of food to benefit Food for Others, a local food bank. Pre-registration is required because each runner ets a T-shirt. (Schools get a new color every year)
So, who’s in charge? The race is brought to you by the Irving PTA and the participating schools.
