Sangster Musical
Theater is excited to announce that we will present Once Upon a Mattress, a zany account of what really happened in the
story of “The Princess and the Pea”. This upbeat, fun-loving, side-splitting musical is one that we anticipate many of our students auditioning for, so we will be holding an audition meeting on
Wednesday, January 19th from 3:45 – 4:30 in the Sangster Café.
During this meeting, we will discuss character breakdowns, song choice, audition procedures, and enrollment information.
Audition CDs, lyrics, and forms will also be distributed, so if you plan on auditioning you are required to attend. Parents are welcome to attend as well.
Due to enrollment issues and the experience level that this musical will require, the audition will only be open to students in grades
4-6. We usually rehearse Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, until 5:00 (ensemble members will usually rehearse on Wednesdays and leads on two days/week) This year, any student who wants to take part in the musical must be available every Wednesday through the beginning of May , since this is the only day in which we have the stage/cafeteria to work with the full cast. Anyone interested in a leading role, must be able to commit to two out of the three days (Wednesday being mandatory). If a student decides to accept the role they have been offered, there will be an enrollment fee that will cover the cost of rights, costumes, scenery, scripts, and rehearsal CDs.
The auditions are scheduled for
Tuesday, January 24th and Wednesday, January 25th from 3:45 – 5:00
(You should only choose one day to attend auditions) Callbacks will be held on Thursday, January 26th)
The performances will be in May.
Please
fill out and send in the permission slip below by January 17th so
that we can prepare the appropriate number of audition materials for those
attending.
